Lonesome Country Quarter Horses is owned and operated by Craig and Shelley Benzing and Brian
and Suzy Benzing and their families. We are grateful to Oran & Sylvia Benzing, Brian & Craig's
parents, for their involvement in the program as well. Some of their mares have played a key role
in the development of Lonesome Country Quarter Horses, and since Brian and Suzy's move, they
are running Buster and a select group of mares to help out the program.

Craig and Shelley live west of Chinook, Montana where Craig trains horses
full-time, day rides for his neighbors during calving and shipping seasons
and shoes horses. Shelley is a Speech Therapist working out of Chinook,
Hays-Lodge Pole and the Blaine County rural schools. They have two
daughters, Kaydance and Shyla Rose. Craig stands Dynamite Cuttin Up at
his place. Craig also handles the main aspect of the ride horse program
and has a solid reputation for turning out well-broke, ranch-used geldings.

Brian and Suzy live at Winifred, Montana where Brian is employed by Bold
Ranch and Feedlot. Suzy is the Classified Manager for the Lewistown News-
Argus newspaper. They have 4 children, Beka, Kayla, Justin and Bailey. Brian
hopes to have a few ranch-used broke geldings for sale each year as well as
some younger horses. The feedlot provides Brian a great opportunity for
starting and training colts but he won't use them in there until they are three,
giving him the opportunity to sell some older horses.

Brian and Craig's sister, Corrie, and her husband, Tim, also help out with the operation and management of the
mares and colts at Square Butte. This makes Lonesome Country a true family affair. Brian and Craig's experience
in the horse industry covers over 25 years of breaking and training horses, some for themselves, many for others.
They have each developed methods of training that produce solid-minded, dependable horses that can go in many
different directions.
